League threatens to expel Drogheda tomorrow

The eircom League has threatened to expel Drogheda United tomorrow if it's not satisfied with the Co Louth club's response to a request for further information.

The league's board of control has written to Drogheda officials requesting further information by tomorrow afternoon in relation to the club's league membership.

Drogheda are currently in severe financial difficulty and today's warning comes despite yesterday's decision by investors and sponsors O2 to increase their contributions in an effort to protect the club's future.
