Celtic confident of Petrov contract talks
Frank McGarvey believes Stilian Petrov will soon follow Martin O’Neill in pledging his future to the club – but only if the money is right.
Celtic manager O’Neill has signed an indefinite rolling 12-month contract which appears at first to end the speculation surrounding his long-term plans.
Now O’Neill can switch his thoughts to tying the Bulgarian midfielder to a new contract – and former Parkhead star McGarvey expects him to put pen to paper.
“I don’t think Henrik Larsson will stay on beyond next season,” he said. “He’s a man of his word and when he says he’s going he will be going.
“But if Petrov’s offered enough money he will stay.”
