Investors save Drogheda from financial meltdown

Drogheda United have received a financial reprieve after investors and team sponsors O2 stumped up extra cash ahead of the eircom League's deadline today.

The Co Louth club is in debt to the tune of €100,000, excluding money owed to the Revenue Commissioners.

Drogheda cannot sign any more players until their financial affairs are in order.
