Turks make Xavier move

Liverpool have confirmed they have received an approach from Galatasaray over the possibility of taking defender Abel Xavier on loan.

The Portugal international joined Liverpool last season from rivals Everton but has struggled to command a first-team place this season due to injury and a lack of form.
