US TV network to air United games

A US television station linked with the New York Yankees will begin broadcasting Manchester United matches next week.

The YES Network will air United's most recent league game, followed by a news magazine on the Red Devils dubbed 'Red Hot News', then a classic match.

Games will be shown almost two days after they are played, as Premiership rights in the US are owned by Fox Sports.

YES spokesman Bob Davis said: "Each block of programming will have the news program, the classic game and the current game. All games are tape-delay."

YES tried to begin broadcasting United matches at the beginning of the season, but Fox blocked it. Financial details of the current agreement were not made public.
