United move for Duff or Davies - report

Manchester United are lining up bids to sign Blackburn's Damien Duff or Spurs winger Simon Davies, according to newspaper reports.

The Sun claims United are preparing to splash out around £12m (€18m) to land Duff, who starred for the Republic of Ireland during last year's World Cup.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star reports that £6m (€9m)-rated Davies could be on his way to Old Trafford.

Alex Ferguson is said to be a great admirer of the Welsh winger and is keen to strengthen his attacking options before the Champions League resumes.
