Irish international Damien Duff and Craig Short are both doubtful for Blackburn’s home clash with Middlesbrough on New Year’s Day.

Duff pulled up during Rovers’ 2-2 draw with West Ham and had to be replaced by Keith Gillespie, while Short also suffered a knock in the match with Andy Todd deputising.
