Ricketts recalled for Newcastle

Bolton striker Michael Ricketts was recalled to the starting line-up against Newcastle.

He was rewarded for his goal at West Ham which rescued a point for the club. Midfielder Kevin Nolan was relegated to the bench.

Defender Mike Whitlow also won a place in the team with Bruno N’Gotty ruled out because of a calf injury.

Newcastle manager Bobby Robson made one change to the side that defeated Fulham.

Shola Ameobi partnered captain Alan Shearer up front with Craig Bellamy on the bench.
