Ranieri to decide on Desailly

Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri must decide whether captain Marcel Desailly is mentally ready to start against Southampton on Boxing Day after his absence for personal reasons.

The centre-back has been out of Europe dealing with a “serious family problem” but is back in the Blues squad for the Stamford Bridge clash.
