The English Premier League was today accused of illegal price-fixing over the sale of exclusive broadcasting rights to screen matches.

After an 18-month investigation, the European Commission said consumers were suffering because the ā€œanti-competitiveā€ arrangements effectively limited media coverage of soccer ā€œto the detriment of consumersā€œ.
