Murphy grabs point for Longford at Derry

Captain Alan Murphy hit a spectacular 30-yard equaliser to rescue a point for Longford who will be the happier with this point from the Brandywell.

Town started well with Vinny Perth hitting the Derry bar after just three minutes. But a dull game didn't really spark into life until late on.

Liam Coyle fired Derry in front from a 78th minute penalty after Sean Hargan had been hauled down by Barry Ferguson.

Town hit back within two minutes when Murphy shot home from long range after Derry thought they had cleared a corner.
