Taylor replaces van der Sar as Fulham kick off

Fulham were forced to field second-choice goalkeeper Maik Taylor for tonight’s win-or-bust UEFA Cup crunch with Hertha Berlin after Edwin van der Sar pulled out with ’flu.

The big Dutch goalkeeper, who has been ill all week, failed a late fitness test to give Northern Ireland international Taylor a rare first-team outing.
