D-Day for Celtic Euro 2008 bid
Members of the Scottish and Irish bid to stage the 2008 European Championships will meet for a campaign post-mortem whether or or not they are successful later today.
Bid leader David Taylor, chief executive of the Scottish Football Association, insisted there had been no thoughts of bidding for a future tournament if they failed to win this time.
Taylor said: “We have not considered that – up to now our focus has been entirely on 2008.
“If we were unsuccessful we would take stock and meetings are planned whether we win or lose and only then would we begin to consider anything else.
“At the moment it is not in our minds.”
