Short scores Blackburn late equaliser

Craig Short scored a dramatic equaliser for Blackburn deep in stoppage time.

He got on the end of Dwight Yorke’s cross to cancel out Bolton’s opener from Jay Jay Okocha.

Goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen came to Bolton’s rescue with a point-blank save from Thompson in the 71st minute.

A minute later Yorke rattled the bar when it seemed easier to score after a lay-off from Cole.

Friedel then showed good reflexes to beat away a shot from Djorkaeff after he had been released by sub Michael Ricketts.

Blackburn equalised deep in injury time when Short headed in a cross from Yorke.
