Everton have injury worries over Lee Carsley and Mark Pembridge for the rematch in the Premiership with Chelsea following their Worthington Cup defeat.

Carsley missed the tie with a badly bruised foot, while Pembridge limped out of the action early on with hamstring trouble, having only just recovered from calf problems.

Boss David Moyes rested Tony Hibbert and Alan Stubbs from his defence, but would be expected to bring both back for the second clash in four days with the Londoners.

Considering his midfield problems, Moyes could well bring in one or both of Scott Gemmill and Gary Naysmith, but is unlikely to use Wayne Rooney from the start.
