Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has been handed a two-match touchline ban by UEFA after being sent to the stands during his side’s victory over Celta Vigo.

That means he will be absent from the dugout for the second leg in Spain on Thursday when the UEFA Cup third round tie is decided.

UEFA’s Control and Disciplinary Body made the ruling today and Celtic have until midnight on Sunday December 8 to appeal.

O’Neill had been sent to the stands by French referee Claude Colombo 12 minutes before the end of Celtic’s 1-0 first leg win.
