Ireland underage manager Brian Kerr has today confirmed that he has applied to succeed Mick McCarthy as senior team boss.

Ireland underage manager Brian Kerr has today confirmed that he has applied to succeed Mick McCarthy as senior team boss.

Kerr, who has enjoyed unprecedented success with Ireland's youth set-up and also spent four years as FAI Technical Director, says he is best-equipped to succeed McCarthy and has put that in writing to the Association.
