Michael Owen expecting baby

This is the statement issued on behalf of England footballer Michael Owen confirming that he and his girlfriend are expecting a baby:

“England and Liverpool footballer Michael Owen and his girlfriend Louise Bonsall are expecting their first baby, it was announced tonight (Sunday)

Michael, 22, said: ‘I’ve had a few exciting moments in my career but nothing that compares to how I felt when Louise told me the news.’

He and his girlfriend Louise, also 22, first met as friends when they attended primary school together in North Wales.

Louise, who is four months pregnant, said: ‘We are both really delighted and excited at the prospect of being parents for the first time.’

The couple have no immediate plans to marry.”
