Fulham come from behind to win
Fulham 2 Dinamo Zagreb 1 (Fulham win 5-1 on aggregate)
Fulham’s late, late show stretched their unbeaten European run to 12 games tonight, as they snatched victory against Dinamo Zagreb to secure their comfortable 5-1 aggregate progression to the third round of the UEFA Cup.
Steed Malbranque equalised in the 89th minute – and Luis Boa Morte fired home deep into injury time to clinch a surprise come-from-behind 2-1 win.
Only heroics from Zagreb No 1 Turina prevented Boa Morte restoring Fulham’s three-goal aggregate advantage. The keeper tipped his measured header over the bar.
Olic should have given Fulham a real attack of the nerves – but van der Sar easily gathered his tame toe-poke.
Steve Marlet missed a great chance when he glanced a close-range header wide.
But substitute Steed Malbranque made no mistake when Goldbaek put him through in the 89th minute. He skipped round Turina and slotted home to equalise at 1-1.
And Malbranque broke through again in injury time to square the ball to Boa Morte, who smacked it into the net to clinch a surprise 2-1 win.
