Former Sunderland manager Peter Reid has said he would be interested in taking over from Mick McCarthy as manager of the Irish national team.

Former Sunderland manager Peter Reid has said he would be interested in taking over from Mick McCarthy as manager of the Irish national team.

Reid, who was sacked from his Sunderland job last month after seven years in the position, said he would welcome an approach from the FAI, but would not apply for the job.
