West Ham Utd 1, Leeds Utd 2 (latest)

There have been three goals in the first 30 minutes at Upton Park as struggling West Ham try to win their home game against Leeds Utd, who are also suffering from a dip in form.

Nicky Barmby gave the away side the lead in the 11th minute as a long clearance fell on to the head of Pearce, but his back-header for David James was short and caught the goalkeeper in no-man’s land.

Harry Kewell nipped in and lobbed the ball over James, and Barmby was on hand from six yards to head it into an unguarded net, for the 50th League goal of his career.

However Paolo Di Canio, back from injury, equalised for the Hammers 10 minutes later.

A woeful clearance from Ian Harte fell straight at the feet of Michael Carrick.

His fierce low drive was only parried by Paul Robinson and di Canio pounced on the loose ball and steered it home from six yards.

Australian international Kewell turned from provider to scorer minutes later as he grabbed a goal for Leeds in the 28th minute to once again give the away side the advantage.
