Soccer star Wise 'sent death threats'

Soccer star Dennis Wise has received death threats, it was reported today.

The threats to the former England and Chelsea star were reportedly connected to the player’s controversial spell at Leicester City, The Sun newspaper said.

Wise was sacked by City after an incident with team-mate Callum Davidson left the Scot with a broken jaw.

Now he is suing Leicester, which is battling with crippling debts and in the hands of administrators, for more than £2m (€3.1m) in unpaid wages.

The death threats were allegedly postmarked from Leicester and were sent to Wise’s current club, Millwall, in south London.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “We are investigating three items of malicious correspondence sent to a man at his place of employment in the borough of Lewisham. Lewisham CID are conducting the investigation.”

Millwall have a home match, at the New Den, against Leicester City, on November 16 while the reverse fixture is on December 14.
