Defensive duo to miss Derby date

Kevin Keegan’s defensive problems have increased ahead of the long-awaited Manchester derby at Maine Road on Saturday as City centre-backs Steve Howey and Sylvain Distin have both been ruled out.

The pair were injured in last night’s 1-0 Worthington Cup defeat to Wigan with Distin pulling a hamstring which is likely to keep him out for at least a month.
