Dons boss backs Connolly

Stuart Murdoch insists Wimbledon hot-shot David Connolly is striving to become the perfect striker.

The Dons are unbeaten in five games since Connolly’s return from a knee injury.

But manager Murdoch reckons he is still not yet in top gear despite a hat-trick in the 4-2 win over Norwich City.

He said: “David is striving for perfection. He works very hard in training and there’s more to come from him.”

Connolly has scored five goals for Wimbledon since returning from his pre-season injury.
