Waterford United have stretched their lead at the top of the Eircom League First Division to five points after beating Dundalk 1-0 at the RSC last night.

Brendan Rea scored the only goal of the game in the 70th minute, heading in from a Kevin Waters corner.

The result leaves Waterford top of the table on 20 points, with Dundalk in second place on 15.
