David Seaman found no escape from his recent trials and tribulations as his uncertainty contributed to Arsenal’s defensive woes in a disorganised first-half display at home to Auxerre.

Seaman was beaten twice in the first 27 minutes, firstly by Olivier Kapo’s long-range drive and then by a close-range lob from Khalilou Fadiga, as Arsenal stumbled to a 2-0 half-time deficit after their weekend loss at Everton.
