Carr and Poyet in frame for Spurs

Stephen Carr and Gus Poyet have given Spurs a boost by returning to the squad for Sunday’s visit of Bolton.

Republic of Ireland defender Carr has managed only 45 minutes this season because of knee and hamstring injuries, while a knee injury has also prevented midfielder Poyet from playing for the first team. Mauricio Taricco (groin) and Ben Thatcher (back) face fitness tests, while Les Ferdinand is ruled out with a back injury.

On a brighter note, Darren Anderton, Ledley King, Anthony Gardner and Stephen Clemence are all back in training, which leaves only Neil Sullivan and Christian Ziege on the injured list.

Provisional squad: Keller, Carr, Perry, Thatcher, Taricco, Richards, Bunjevcevic, Poyet, Freund, Redknapp, Sheringham, Keane, Iversen, Davies, Acimovic, Blondel, Rebrov, Etherington, Doherty, Hirschfeld.
