UEFA probe Ukraine complaint
UEFA today confirmed they have launched an inquiry into an alleged incident at the end of Northern Ireland’s under-21 European Championship qualifier against Ukraine on Tuesday.
Ukraine complained to the UEFA delegate immediately following the 1-1 draw that midfielder Andriy Berezovchuk had been assaulted in the tunnel at Ballymena.
They want an Irish player cited, claiming he threw at punch at their player.
A UEFA spokeswoman said: “An investigation has been launched following a complaint by the Ukraine authorities to the UEFA delegate.”
The Irish FA say they will wait until UEFA complete their probe into the allegation before making any comment.
