Zenden facing injury lay-off
Chelsea winger Boudewijn Zenden is facing a spell on the sidelines after picking up an ankle injury during Holland’s Euro 2004 qualifier against Austria last night.
Zenden limped out of the 3-0 win in Vienna in the 70th minute and the prospects do not look good for the Dutch flier.
“Nothing is broken and I also think that nothing is torn off,” he said.
“But I have lots of pain and can hardly stand on the foot. I’m afraid that I will be out for Chelsea for a few weeks.”
Chelsea have an away match at Manchester City on Saturday before facing West Bromwich Albion at home the following weekend.
