Wilkinson handed Sunderland job

Howard Wilkinson has been unveiled as the new manager of Sunderland.

Recently-retired Stoke boss Steve Cotterill will be his assistant at the Stadium of Light.

This finally rules out Ireland manager Mick McCarthy as a contender for the job.
