Dundee and Kilmarnock scoreless at interval
Dundee 0, Kilmarnock 0 (half-time)
Dundee and Kilmarnock were locked together after a hard-fought but fairly uneventful 45 minutes of action.
The home side should have been awarded a penalty in the opening minutes when Mahood appeared to handle in the box, but the referee gave a free kick, much to the home side’s annoyance. Killie rarely threatened and appear to be settling for a point.
Dundee wasted another wonderful opportunity in the 33rd minute, and once again Novo was at the heart of the action.
The little Spaniard took up a perfect position in the box for Gary Brady’s right-hand side cross, but his attempted volley from eight yards was disappointing, especially with the Killie defence missing.
Killie were presented with a rare opportunity to trouble Speroni in the 37th minute when Fulton’s good run from midfield was abruptly ended by a crude Brady challenge.
From the resultant free-kick, Locke attempted to shoot from 25-yards, but the Dundee wall did its job and chased the ball down.
