Hibs lead Dundee Utd by one
Hibernian 1, Dundee Utd 0 (half-time)
Hibernian headed into the interval with a slim advantage over Dundee United after Garry O’Connor netted midway through the first half.
Until that point, both sides had decent chances to take the lead but it was Bobby Williamson’s men who grabbed the goal.
O’Connor could have grabbed his second goal of the game after 36 minutes after Paco Luna’s close-range shot was blocked.
The youngster pounced on the rebound but his own effort came off Fenwick and the chance was lost.
Hibs had another great chance to extend their lead five minutes before the break when O’Connor’s cross was met by Luna at the far post but the Spaniard somehow managed to nod just wide of the post from a couple of yards out.
The Easter Road side made a claim for a penalty a couple of minutes later when Luna played the ball to O’Connor and he went down in the box under the weight of two United defenders but referee John Underhill was unimpressed.
