Birmingham manager Steve Bruce is debating whether to hand a Premiership debut at West Ham to 17-year-old Mat Sadler, who impressed at left-back in the midweek Worthington Cup triumph over Leyton Orient.

Bruce’s first-choice left-back Martin Grainger is out of action until Christmas after undergoing knee surgery on Friday.

The likes of record signing Clinton Morrison, Kenny Cunningham, Robbie Savage, Aliou Cisse, Nico Vaesen, Darren Carter, new Scotland call-up Paul Devlin and Damien Johnson all set to return.

PROBABLE SQUAD: Vaesen, Kenna, Purse, Cunningham, Carter, Devlin, Savage, Cisse, D Johnson, Morrison, John, Bennett, Lazaridis, Powell, Kirovski, Horsfield, Sadler, Vickers, Woodhouse.
