Kanoute out for Hammers
West Ham manager Glenn Roeder will definitely be without striker Frederic Kanoute in tomorrow night’s Worthington Cup second round visit to Chesterfield.
The French striker suffered a thigh injury in Saturday’s 3-2 victory over Chelsea as West Ham won for the first time this season and his replacement Jermain Defoe looks set to continue after scoring the opening goal.
The Hammers boss has confirmed that Kanoute could be out for over a month.
Roeder could make other changes at Saltergate as he looks to keep his squad fresh for Premiership action.
West Ham (probable): James; Schemmel, Minto, Repka, Breen, Pearce, Dailly, Winterburn, Lomas, Cisse, Cole, Carrick, Sinclair; Di Canio, Defoe, Camara, Labant, Courtois, Van der Gouw.
