Fergie earmarks O'Shea and Rio combination

Alex Ferguson has earmarked John O’Shea as Rio Ferdinand’s long-term central defensive partner.

The talented young Irishman has impressed Old Trafford observers with some outstanding displays this season, initially as stand-in for Ferdinand when the world’s most expensive defender picked up an ankle injury, then last Saturday against Tottenham when Laurent Blanc was rested.
