Everton field attacking line-up

Villa boss Graham Taylor made three changes from the 3-0 humbling in the Birmingham derby though keeper Peter Enckelman, who made such a blunder during that game, kept his place.

Everton manager David Moyes gave a second Premiership start to Wayne Rooney, the striker who is still a month short of his 17th birthday, and Richard Wright was back in goal.
