Muscat faces video grilling
Rangers defender Kevin Muscat is to be questioned by video following an incident during his side‘s victory at Livingston last week.
The former Wolves full-back appeared to use an arm to strike Livingston player Juanjo Camacho across the head.
The Scottish Football Association‘s review panel has decided to act for the first time since its inception and review the incident on video.
The Australian is now facing the same sort of trial which was used for the cases of Fernando Ricksen and Bobo Balde, after which the panel was set up.
A video of the incident is being sent to three members of the panel, who will view the tape before discussing by conference call on Monday afternoon whether or not the player has a case to answer.
If the panel decides to continue the case, it will be referred to the SFAdisciplinary committee, which next meets on October 15 and the player would be required to appear before the committee.
The SFA introduced the review panel as a result of an overhaul of disciplinary procedures which took into account, among other things, recommendations made last season by Lord McCluskey, chairman of the disciplinary appeals tribunal, in relation to the Bobo Balde case.
