Campbell double gives Everton win

Kevin Campbell’s double gave Everton what had looked for a long time to be an unlikely victory.

Middlesbrough scored early on through Szilard Nemeth, hit a post through Massimo Maccarone and wasted a hatful of chances before Campbell’s first tap-in followed in the second half by a headed winner.

Boro instantly changed their attacking force and threw on Alan Boksic and Carlos Marinelli for Job and Maccarone.

Everton’s response was a midfielder player in Lee Carsley for Radzinski in with seven minutes left.
