Taylor resigned to losing out on Holland

Aston Villa manager Graham Taylor is close to admitting defeat in his bid to sign Ipswich captain Matt Holland - despite offering the Republic of Ireland international a pay rise.

Taylor had been desperate to link up Holland and countryman Mark Kinsella - signed last week from Charlton - in the centre.
