Rovers made hard work of beating First Division Cobh to book their place in the last eight.

It began well for the Hoops with James Keddy coming close on three occasions before finally giving them the lead on 32 minutes.

Cobh keeper John Donegan could only parry a shot from Sean Francis and Keddy scooped home the rebound.

Rovers didn't seal their win until the second minute of stoppage time when Stephen Grant set up Francis to shoot home.
