Harps and Kildare Co vie for silverware

Finn Harps and eircom League new boys Kildare County will vie for the season's first piece of silverware when the Division One Cup final is played out over two legs later this month.

The eircom League set the dates for the two-legged final today with southern section winners Kildare County drawn at home for the first leg at Station Road, Newbridge at 6pm on Wednesday, August 28.

The second leg will be at Finn Park, Ballybofey, on Wednesday September 4, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Away goals will not count and extra-time and penalties will be played if necessary.

The final dates mean that Kilkenny City's home eircom League Division One fixture against Kildare County will now take place on August 31 with a 7.45pm kick off.
