Rovers and Dundalk lose UEFA first-leg ties
Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk have both lost the first legs of their UEFA Cup qualifiers.
Rovers were beaten 3-1 by Swedish side Djurgaardens at Tolka Park last night and will need a remarkable performance in the away leg in two weeks’ time to rescue the tie.
Dundalk, meanwhile, are more or less out of the competition after losing 5-0 away to Varteks of Croatia, their worst European defeat in 14 years.
