Middlesbrough fear Brazilian star Juninho could miss a large part of the season after suffering a cruciate ligament injury at the weekend.

The Riversiders are awaiting a specialist’s report on the extent of the knee problem, sustained during the club’s friendly with Modena in Italy on Saturday.
