Burnley have banned ITV cameras from Turf Moor on match days after losing out financially from the collapse of ITV Digital.

The Clarets took action after the Football League lost their case to recoup £178m (€278.4m) from Carlton and Granada.

Burnley are owed £6m (€9.38m) over two years from the collapsed contract, and with Sky's new rights deal not covering the loss the club hopes to force the television companies back to the negotiating table.

Burnley marketing manager Edoardo Abis said in a statement: "Due to the distress Carlton and Granada have caused us, we have taken the decision to ban them from entering Turf Moor.

"If they can come to some agreement with the Football League we would reconsider our stance.

"If all the clubs in the Nationwide League do the same then Granada and Carlton would have no programme to offer. Maybe then they would start to realise what they have done."
