New boy Sini Savic became an instant hit with Longford fans after he hit a second half equaliser at the Brandywell.

Debutant Savic ran clear onto Sean Prunty's pass to fire past Alan Gough on 58 minutes.

Town then played out the last half an hour with ten men after defender Barry Ferguson was sent off.

Gary Beckett stole new signing David Kelly's limelight to put Derry in front.

Beckett replaced Liam Coyle after just 25 minutes and scored twelve minutes later.

Peter Hutton crossed from the right and Beckett was there to drill the ball home.
