Kilkenny and Waterford progress in FAI Cup

Kilkenny and Waterford have progressed to the third round of the FAI Cup after overcoming Athlone Town and Limerick in their replayed second-round ties last night.

Kilkenny scored three times in the second period of extra-time against Athlone to win 3-0 after a scoreless 105 minutes, while Waterford needed a penalty shoot-out to see off the Limerick challenge.
