Connolly worry for Dons

Wimbledon striker David Connolly has had a scan on a knee injury which threatens to sideline him for the start of the season.

The Republic of Ireland forward is just back from his holiday after the World Cup, but limped out of his first game back on Saturday after 30 minutes against Swindon following a crunching tackle from Matt Heywood.

Connolly left the game on crutches and was examined by club doctors yesterday, but the full extent of the injury is not yet known.

Swedish midfielder Hakan Mild came through his first pre-season action unscathed in the 1-1 draw after an injury-plagued summer.
