Sky Blues accept Celtic offer for Hedman

Coventry chairman Mike McGinnity today confirmed the Division One club have accepted an undisclosed offer from Celtic for goalkeeper Magnus Hedman.

Hoops manager Martin O’Neill has been searching for a new keeper after Dmitri Kharine was released this summer.

The Swedish international will meet O’Neill today and is expected to complete a medical tomorrow.

McGinnity told www.ccfc.co.uk: ‘‘The offer from Celtic is far in excess of the bid we received from Espanyol in June.

‘‘The board are satisfied that it meets our valuation of Magnus.’’
