Arsenal’s pre-season friendly against Rapid Vienna in Eisenstadt was abandoned due to crowd trouble.

The Double champions were being held by Rapid, who finished eighth out of the 10-team Austrian Bundesliga, when the match was abandoned with 20 minutes remaining.

No Arsenal supporters were involved, and Rapid officials have apologised according to Radio Five Live.

It is the second successive season Arsene Wenger’s side have prepared for the Premiership campaign with a trip to Austria.
