Sky confirm Ireland game to be broadcast on Sky One

Sky Television has confirmed that it is to broadcast Ireland’s first home European Championship qualifier game against Switzerland on October 16 on Sky One.

Irish customers with the Sky Satellite service, NTL, or the chorus cable networks will be able to watch the Lansdowne match without incurring any extra cost.

No decision has been made in relation to the screening of remaining home soccer matches next year.

It means that over 800,000 people in the Republic will be in a position to watch the October game, but the Government has stated that the move will meet with no concessions.
